Question: Are Gala Tents waterproof?
Answer: Gala Tents are manufactured to a very high standard and all stitching is seam sealed where possible, this gives the material a greater water resistance. It is very rare that these marquees leak, but, if a drip does occur then using a seam sealant on the area will usually remedy this. You can purchase seam sealant on the Gala Tent Website. Condensation can often be mistaken for a leaking canopy, unfotunatly this cannot be avoided. Condensation can be caused by changes in temperature when left up overnight or for a long period of time, condensation may be reduced by airing out the structure on a regular basis. Condensation may gather around the seams giving the impression that the canopy is leaking.

Question: What is PE(Polyethylene) material?
Answer: PE material is a polyethylene, rip-stop, woven material, which is UV stabilised and fire-rated. Gala Tent PE material is plastic-coated on both sides for extra strength.

Answer: Polyester/PVC material is a quality, fire rated UV stabilised fabric cloth, which is PVC coated on the inside making this material extremely water resistant.

Question: What is the difference between PE and Poly/PVC material?
Answer: Poly/PVC is a very luxurious, deluxe material and is much more expensive to manufacture than PE. The life expectancy is twice that of the PE material.

Question: My polyester canopy leaked on the first use in heavy rain: is this faulty?
Answer: No. You may find that the polyester material canopy leaks on the first use if exposed to heavy rain, although this is very rare. You should find that the situation remedies itself on subsequent use. If you do get a persistent leak over time you should use a Scotchgard spray to reproof the area.

Question: What is the recommended cleaning solution for my Gala material?
Answer: There are many ways to clean your material, some clients have even informed us they have used their domestic washing machine, however please note Gala Tent hasn’t tested this and it isn’t recommended by us. We suggest you use simple soapy water, or buy some specialist cleaner such as "Fenwick’s". Halfords stock these cleaning products. A simple Goggle search can bring up many options for gazebo cleaners. Lightly pressure washing and steam cleaning is also effective for ground in dirt. However make sure your material is completely dry before you store it away. If you pack your material away damp the material may perish and fall apart as mould will attack the fibres.

Question: Can I pack away my Gala structure even if the material is wet?
Answer: Definitely NOT! Try to avoid packing your structure away wet, wipe the frame dry, and hang the material over your washing line until completely dry. Your material will perish quickly if stored in wet condition, as mould will rot the martial fibres.

Question: What do I need to purchase to make my Gala Tent larger?
Answer: Gala Tent marquees come in a variety of widths from 3m to 6m. Each marquee is divided into 2m long bays. For example, a 3m x 6m marquee is made up of three 2m bays. If you wanted to extend the marquee from 3m x 6m to 3m x 8m you would need to order: - A 2m bay – This supplies side panels and framework.
- An extension kit – This provides the additional fittings you will need.
- An 3m x 8m canopy – The canopy comprises the roof covering and corner leg panels.
- Please note: If you have a ground bar set you will also need to add two G1 ground bar poles and two ground bar straight joints to your basket.

Question: What does Multi-Span mean?
Answer: Multi-Span means you can add an extra 2m bay to make your Gala Tent larger. For example, if you have a 3m x 2m Gala Tent you can purchase a 2m add on bay, fixings plus a 3m x 4m canopy to make your Gala Tent in to a 3m x 4m marquee. 3m x 6m, 3m x 8m, 3m x 10m canopies are also available to purchase online. Question: What are ground bars?
Answer: Ground bars run along the bottom of the marquee to give added stability, whether used on hard standings or soft ground. The ground bars link each leg together creating a structural base frame to which the bottom of each wall can be attached using bungee straps, no more flapping walls! Ground bars make the whole structure more level and stable and are a recommended accessory.If required, individual ground bars can be removed to provide entry and exit points. The ground bars can be pegged to soft ground using Ground bar stakes; on hard standings, you can apply weights to the Ground Bars to provide more stability.

Question: Why do I need tie down kits?
Answer: Tie-downs are ratchet straps which run internally or externally from the eave poles to a 12" heavy-duty stake. Tie-downs eliminate the need for external guide ropes and are a recommended accessory for soft ground conditions to secure your marquee.

Question: Why do I need weighted feet?
Answer: Weighted feet are very useful for hard standing areas where you can't peg down your structure with guide ropes or tie downs kits. Weighted feet are very simple to fit. Plastic weighted feet clip around the marquee leg and can be filled with water or sand to make your structure secure. The cast iron weighted feet are simply placed on top of the legs' pedestal foot.

Question: How long do Gala Shades Take to erect?
Answer: Gala Shades have been designed to erect in just a few minutes. The frame comes fully assembled and is made of box section steel or aluminium. A further advantage is that the canopy can remain permanently attached to the frame thereby saving time when you come to erect and pack away your shade. However please take precautions such as unfastening any attachments between the canopy and frame. Any damage caused to the canopy whilst keeping it attached to the frame when not erected is not covered under warranty.

Answer: Gala Tent Marquees have been wind tested in a semi enclosed area in wind speeds of approximately 30mph using the recommended tie down kits, ground bars and weighted feet.

Question: What sort of winds will Gala Shade withstand?
Answer:We recommend that you do not erect your Gala Shade in adverse weather conditions. A Gala Shade can be erect and dismantle in minutes so it is the responsibility of the owner to gauge if it is safe to do so. We also recommend you take down your Gala Shade in the evening and do not leave out overnight - the English weather can be very unpredictable! We suggest you purchase tie down kits, ground bars and weighted feet to provide extra stability.

Question: Is Gala-Tex Flooring Suitable for high heels?
Answer: This is a question I get asked a lot, the answer is no flooring is suitable for stiletto style heels, normal high heels are ok. However if the ground is hard heels shouldn't be a huge problem providing the flooring is taut and well pegged down.

Question: Can I leave my canopy on my Gala Shade frame then pack it away in the wheelie bag to save time.
Answer: We strongly advise that the canopy is removed before collapsing your structure as this may cause snags and tears if left on. If the canopy is left on this is at the users own risk and these damages are not covered under warranty.

Question: I have ripped my Gala Shade canopy when closing the frame, am I covered under manufacturing guarantee for a replacement.
Answer: Unfortunately not, please take care in making sure you close your framework safely do not force closed, make sure all clip, Velcro on the inside are detached, improper erection, dismantling is not covered under your manufactures guarantee. However we do have a repair service to assist in this unlikely event.

Question: I have a defective part on my structure, am I entitled to a free replacement.
Answer: This is always decided on whether we can repair or replace the item, if it is just cosmetic then we would often offer a repair service, however we do offer a high level of customer service and if the item is beyond repair then a replacement part would be sent.

Question: My Gala Tent canopy doesn't fit
Answer: A simple mistake has been made here, the bungee chords have been incorrectly fitted. Always make sure that the poles are pushed firmly all the way into the joints (do not line up any holes in the poles and joints) the holes are made through the manufacturing and powder coating process. Make sure the wing nuts are finger tight, these are to ensure the poles stay in place while the canopy is being fitted, once the canopy is fitted the wing nuts have done there job as the canopy will hold the framework together. The bungee cords should not be fitted to the sides at this stage. The canopy should be placed over the framework and a few bungee cords applied to the end only; stretch the canopy over the poles at the far end, and add bungee cords here as well. Once you have applied bungee cords at both ends then you can lift the frame to add the legs poles. When the leg poles are in place add the side panels, these share the same bungee as the canopy. Following this advise that canopy will now fits perfectly

Question: My Gala Tent ground bar corner joint has broken?
Answer: Other than adverse weather, the only way a ground bar joint can break is if you erect the leg poles with the ground bar joint attached, the reason for this is they are usually facing the wrong way, hence stress on the weld. Solution: Erect the roof framework, then the canopy, then the leg poles, then add the ground bar joints lastly. Caution: Do not pack your Gala Tent poles away with the ground bar joints attached as if you break them during erection you are not covered under warranty for replacements.

Question: My Gala Tent is leaking water in?
Answer: The case study, which was performed, involved, an experiment, which provided scientific evidence that Gala Tent material, does not leak. The water you are seeing is caused by the British ever-changing climate. It is impossible for water to leak in your Gala Tent, however water will appear inside and in some cases saturate, this was proved to be condensation when hot air meets cold and this can be extreme in some cases especially on soft ground as moisture is also drawn from the ground.
I can assure you your structure is not leaking and the only way you can help this situation would be installing a dehumidifier or leaving the doors open providing adequate ventilation so the structure can acclimatize. Any structure that is being hit from all angles by the elements, which is totally enclosed will generate condensation this is the laws of physics. The problem is also renowned in static caravans, that’s why they fit dehumidifies or stand salt pots in them to absorb the moisture, as when they are left for long periods of time on the return visit they are dripping inside with water (condensation) now how did that get there? It’s a very similar situation.
Gala Tent regularly attend outdoor shows and set up the structures and as the climate changes especially through the night water can be dripping from the ceiling the next morning, its simply the nature of the beast.
If you are not satisfied by this straightforward scientific explanation then here’s a simple experiment you can perform yourself. All you need is a hose pipe and an erected Gala Tent hold a hose pipe over your canopy and pour water over it, then go inside, I can guarantee you the joints are seam sealed and no water with pour into your Gala Tent.

Question: How do I find out how my order is progressing?

If you have just placed your order online and received a confirmation email it may be that the order has yet to be transferred from our back office system to the sales team. If you select this option, a member of the Gala Tent sales team will contact you as soon as the item becomes available and ask whether you still wish to purchase it.

Question: Some of the products I am looking for are no longer on the website
Answer: When new products are added to the Gala Tent website all old and obsolete items are removed. Consequently, if you cannot find a product which you have seen in the past it may be that it has been discontinued. If you require clarification then please contact the sales team on 0871 423 4252.

Answer: If a special offer is time-limited then the end date will be displayed so you know how much longer you can purchase at the discounted price. Other offers based on stock availability will run until stocks are exhausted.

Answer: Yes. Gala Tent sources products and material from suppliers throughout the world. In addition to sales through our showroom, website, direct mail and telephone sales team, Gala Tent supplies products to many other organisations including major high street stores, Sky shopping channels and promotional companies. If you require a product not listed on our website please contact our sourcing team using our contact form and we will endeavour to source the product for you at the best possible price.

Question: How can I be sure that my online Gala Tent sales transactions are safe and secure?
Answer: Transactions that involve personal information (e.g. credit card numbers) are performed securely using our SSL secure mode. You can verify when the Gala Tent website is operating in secure mode by checking the URL address at the top of your browser. A standard URL starts http://, whereas in security mode the URL reads https://: the‘s’ signifies ‘secure’ and indicates that the server is encrypting all data being transmitted. Question: Why is it cheaper to buy than hire ?
Answer: Many individuals now choose to purchase a marquee rather than hire. In many cases this can prove to be the more cost-effective option. When you hire a marquee you pay for the convenience of a hire company delivering to your venue, erecting the structure, and then taking it down again. The hire company has to cover a wide range of costs including labour, fuel, administration, depreciation and insurance plus of course generating a profit margin. Question: I checked my marquee this morning and the inner roof is damp, is my marquee leaking?
Answer: No, damp can occur inside marquees overnight, this is condensation due to temperature changes, just shake or brush off, problem solved.

Question: I am a trader can I leave my stock in my marquee over night?
Answer: There is obliviously security reasons why you shouldn’t leave your stock exposed, other reasons are condensation, over night the temperature will change and your marquee interior will become wet sometimes this is extreme as moisture is also pulled from the ground, so if you have clothing, frames, electrical items or anything that would be effected due to being damp then don’t risk it, a dehumidifier can help in reducing condensation or leaving both doors fully open so wind can pass through, however there will still be a degree of condensation the next morning.
