Back in 1999, there were very few marquees for sale. A marquee was an elegant symbol of luxury that were seen at large functions such as weddings or awards ceremonies. So the story of Gala Tent’s formation goes, our founding family were looking to increase the size of their pub to allow extra guests to attend their Big Millennium Bash. There were none to be found anywhere with the hiring firms who had all been booked up, so they purchased a small amount of stock for personal use, and some additional marquees for sale to others who had found themselves in the same position.

Soon it became apparent that there was a gap in the market for affordable marquees for use not just at high class luxury weddings at a stately home, or for the rich and famous to hold charity auctions. There was demand for people to use marquees in their homes and gardens to host their own party nights, bars and restaurants could expand their premises without the need for expensive building work, and Gala Tent was there right at the start of the marquee boom. No, scratch that. Gala Tent was the Marquee Boom.

For twenty one years we have refined and improved the marquee ranges for sale, and the individual marquees in our range. Of course, if money were no object we would all get the best and most long lasting marquee that cash can buy, but we understand that this is not the way of the world. Gala Tent prides itself on being a premium marquee brand, so we don’t often come up as the cheapest available, but what we can say with confidence is that we have the best value marquees currently for sale in the UK. SPACE AVAILABLE

The space you have available to you will of course dictate the marquee that’s suited to your needs. If you’re hosting a garden party or just want somewhere to relax on an evening or a weekend, then you just need something small and personal, such as a 3m x 3m or a 4m x 6m marquee. If you’re hosting a large scale event and have a large space available then consider how many people you wish to cover at any one time, for example, a 9m x 30m Fusion Marquee will cover up to around 450 guests, and is modular so can be increased to as long as you want it to be, effectively covering limitless numbers of guests.

THE APPLICATION

Different marquee covers perform different functions to different levels. For example, the Elite 650gsm PVC covers are what we call self-cleaning. You can wipe any residual dirt or mud away with ease, due to the glossy nature of the luxurious roof and sides. However, because they are built to be so robust and hard-wearing, they are heavy. If you need something less robust and more lightweight for ease of transportation, but equally pretty, then the 240gsm Polyethylene (PE) is absolutely the choice for you. If you want the kind of tent you see covering hundreds of guests at an agricultural fair then the Fusion Marquee will be that tent.
