Just thought I would drop a quick line that might be help full to other licensees. I have recently purchased a marquee from your excellent company. I initially had the idea to hire a marquee for the Christmas period so as to extend my drinking area into my garden, which can only be used in the summer. However the Gala Tent marquee offered where so cost effective and of excellent quality I bought one instead. Now I have the extra space for christenings, weddings, birthdays etc as well as Christmas. On top of that I can put on a big screen showing of the European cup in the marquee next year, which would not have been possible without it. The marquees also come with a helpful loophole in the law attached, they come with a full fire Certificate you can use them as a separate smoking shelter area! They are so easy to heat as well with a normal patio heater. Also because they are classed as a temporary structure (even though they are so well constructed you could leave them up all year) no planning permission is required. Simply I can now utilize my garden 12 months out of the year and offer a smoke free pub into the bargain! The possibilities are endless for new openings for the pub trade. Roll on the good times!

The delivery was made EXACTLY at 3.00pm. Although I wont be able to open the gazebo package until tomorrow, I can tell you that I am very pleased with your service and that of your Carriers.

As the gazebo is so well packaged and polythene shrink wrapped, I am able to store it outside overnight.
This has relieved me of having to find somewhere to store it until I can attend to it.
One other aspect, which pleased me greatly, was the fact that you only debit my credit card on despatch of the order.  Many Companies debit on receipt of order! These Companies dont get my business twice!
I shall recommend your Company to others unreservedly.

I had great difficulty finding this Recumbent Bike on the net - I have wrecked two of the box standard, pedals on a bit of pipe ones which are advertised in all the Oldies magazine etc., using it every evening and this one is so robust compared to the others.
Might I suggest you contact some of the above and do some aggressive advertising - I cannot be the only old person (bad heart and bad back - so cannot do the walking suggested by the doctors) to wreck their ghastly, badly made bikes, and as yours is only a few pounds more, it is excellent value (please God I dont break it this evening!) and I am sure there is a big market for them.

As I said, the marquees are being bought on behalf of a charitable trust that is responsible for the village’s playing field, which is used to hold community and charity fundraising events. This week I ordered a 4ft folding trestle table on the Internet, the ordering went very well with no problems!
 The table arrived a couple of days later well packed.  Upon opening it I couldn't manage to open it and I didn't want to force it and damage it.  I rang the helpline and was asked to leave a message, which I did.  I was rung back a short while later by one of your staff who listened very carefully and took advice from your warehouse staff.  With their suggestion the table opened perfectly. We are very pleased with the table and it is in use straight away as my wife's sewing table.

In May 2011 we ordered a marquee and gazebo with other equipment at a cost of over Ł1200.00. We are a small diving business and needed the items for the season, to cut a long story short, we lost business to another company because the marquee didn’t turn up until the end of August and still parts of it were in Holland... the gazebo didn’t turn up until September we lost on site business at the harbour, the customer service was non existent we had to do all the emailing, phone calling and finding lost items if we could, they sent replacements eventually, and visa debit got some of our money back, Gala Tents will tell you they gave us our gazebo free of charge. big deal, we would rather have had it on time, so giving it to us FOC only proves they know they are in the wrong as Visa had already decided they were in the wrong. As a result we have lost business and when we told Gala Tents they didn’t care...as for the product it is good just the delivery and customer service leaves a lot to be desired, so be careful if you are ordering from them. It seems if all goes well the customer service is great, once things start going wrong they all hide. Good customer service is how they deal with problems when things go wrong isn’t it?

Unfortunately in this instance Gala Tent were severely let down by the third partie courier service. Mary, Firstly thank you for your handling of the galamat issue which hopefully will be resolved shortly. Also we wanted to say how pleased and impressed we were with the Gala Shade. It works perfectly for our use and is so much more structurally sound than other options we had looked at. It did take us a bit of effort to get it up, not sure if this is just us missing a trick or whether it was slightly stiff on first use but overall very pleased.

I am very disappointed with the quality of the 3m x 6m Gala tent made 500d ivory white polyester material with PVC backing. When I disassemble it I found the roof canopy material to be ripped along the top apex pole where the Ivory satin lining Velcro attachment points were. I had followed the manufactures instructions “if you are planning to leave your structure erected for many days/weeks/months, the weather should be checked regularly to ensure the safety of the structure”.  I had also used ratchet tie downs and the ground bar set. I complained to Gala Tent that the design of the satin lining had caused the top canopy to rip due to the materials rubbing together.  I also pointed out that their claim “we believe it’s the most durable marquee of its kind in the world!” was not true from my experience. Gala Tent’s reply was “we have not had any other complaints in regards to the Velcro rubbing which, if it was a design fault, we would have heard about this”. They offered me 10% discount as a good gesture.

According to our investigation in to your issues you brought forward we did investigate fully and a commercial decision was made that your structure had what is known in the business as 'fair wear', and if you are to leave your structure up as a permanent fixture for lengthy periods of time then it its reasonable to say that it will be subject to all kinds of inclement weather and will require maintenance at some stage. I believe as a good will gesture our customer service team offered you a 10% discount to help your situation, which Gala Tent believe to be very reasonable. I would like to put a few words together about my recent purchase.
I purchased a 4m x 6m Gala Tent and Gala matting for a birthday party that I am having in my garden. Unfortunately when the matting arrived it was damaged. I immediately contacted the Customer Service dept and spoke to Melissa who asked me to send a photo so that it could be investigated, I did this immediately and within a couple of days I got a reply stating that they would refund the cost of the matting. This was an excellent gesture. I put up the marquee and noticed an eyelet missing, and a day later it absolutely poured down. There was a leak where some of the stitching was, so I again contacted Melissa who asked if I wanted a replacement panel or the parts to fit myself. Melissa said that she would send some spare eyelets together with an eyelet closing tool and would also send me some sealant free of charge. Once again, excellent service.

It is nice to have a customer service department who actually put the customer first, well done Melissa. I also spoke with Craig in sales and suggested that they could do with a side panel with a door in, guess what? They do actually make them, so because of the excellent service I had received I purchased one..I am well pleased with my purchase, the sales team and the excellent customer service, 10/10... I would recommend this company to anyone wanting a professional marquee at a reasonable price...

I was assured that the marquee would be delivered during the week commencing 12 March.  In fact the marquee arrived the day after the order was made.  We live in Devon and I was very impressed with the speed of delivery.

The marquee consisted of about 15 boxes and arrived on a sealed pallet.

Unfortunately we were unable to make use of the marquee as we had to cancel our planned function.  In fact none of the boxes were even opened.

I was very impressed with the level of customer services with regard to my request to return the marquee.  I was kept informed of the returns’ procedure at all levels.

Although I haven’t received the refund at the date of writing this email, I am assured that the monies will be refunded on 13 April 2012. I would not hesitate to recommend Gala Tents based on the level of customer service that I have received.Many thanks

As noted earlier I think that I may have used my Gala Tent to cover something that no other Gala Tent has covered before: a railway wagon.  I work on a preserved railway where covered accommodation is at a real premium nearly all of it is taken up locomotives forcing wagon repairs into the open.  The Scottish weather makes this a bit off a hit or miss affair so I began looking at temporary buildings like marquees and found out that Gala Tent offered a suitable size at reasonable price and decided to buy one and try it out.

In late November last year I received my 4m x 8m Gala Tent and immediately erected it over the wagon I wanted to work on.  Due the ground conditions I got the optional ground bar set as well.  Basically it was excellent myself and friend got it up in an hour and a bit having never seen one before and with just the pictures on the boxes.  It then stayed up happily for two weeks.  No leaks, no frame damage and it was cold, rainy and windy over those two weeks.

I have attached a picture of the wagon being pushed out so that we could take the tent down.  I will be looking to expand my tent to 40ft/12m and re-erect it towards the end of February to allow restoration work to continue.  The Board members of the railway were also impressed by the tent and are thinking about them for visitor and exhibition use at the railway's special events. 
 
All in all seems to be a good product.

I was on the road this morning when my wife called me to say my order had been delivered. This is one of those very rare moments that my faith in human efficiency is totally bowled over.  You achieved the near impossible when so many other people, companies and systems completely fail. Thank you for your outstanding performance in taking an order at 4PM and delivering a tent some 250 miles away by 10AM the next morning. I will use this as an example of how it should be done, in my next managers’ meeting.

I haven't had chance to look yet but do Gala make side panels with fine mesh panels? These would be great for letting in a bit of air in the summer but keeping out the bugs and birds. My brother said immediately on seeing your logo that he'd seen your tents at his off-road enduro events, and if they could survive the treatment the average motorcrosser would give them they must be good! With what we've seen of the tent so far, I think he's going to be right.

Why choose Gala tent? Well why Not? If its quality at an affordable price you are after, then you would be a fool not to choose a Gala Tent. Granted there are cheaper and more ‘Affordable’ tents out there, but do you get the quality? NO! Do you get Durability? NO! Do you get a tent that will stand the test of Time? NO! All this I can say confidently, up until we discovered Gala Tent we must have spent a small fortune on Gazebos, all of which ended up in the Bin, and why was this you may ask? Simple answer is, they were not up to the job. With a Gala Tent, you do not have that worry, the design, the ease of assembly, and most importantly, with a Gala Tent you can buy replacement parts, just ask yourself if this can be said for cheaper versions sold in local outlets, the answer will simply be NO! and you will have to buy a complete new setup. When you first take delivery of your Gala Tent, with it’s many parts you will probably think ‘ what the heck’, but do not dismay they are very simple to put up, so simple infact my 5 year old grandson knows where the parts go. How long does it take to put up you may ask? Simple, as long as you want to take in putting it up, personally we can put our 6m x 3m tent quicker than we could our 20ft x 4ft market stall, once you have assembled the roof bars the rest is plain sailing, I have read in some of the reviews about the retaining nut on the roof bars breaking, this is a minor glitch, if a glitch at all, as when the top cover is put on, it holds all the roof bars in place and it is going nowhere, so one could ask, are they needed at all? As for durability, you could not ask for better than a Gala Tent, theses tents really do withstand the elements, ours has stood the test of time in winds of up to 80 mph and never faultered and at this point I will say if you are investing in a Gala Tent, make sure you purchase the ground bars as well, as these make an already sound structure in to an even solider frame, trust me when I say that, has we have recently added the ground bars to our 6m x 3m and I am confident when I say she is going nowhere, and I live where there is a right wind trap. If in the event anything should break, as I mentioned earlier, replacement parts are available and never once have I had a problem with customer services, any issues and they are only a phone call away, can you say that about the companies that supply leading retail chains with gazebo’s, I’ll let you answer that one yourself. So all in all if you want to buy right first time and save yourself some money. Buy a Gala Tent.

There were a couple of minor problems with the marquee, in that one of the panels had been manufactured upside-down and I was missing a few bungees. However, these problems were rectified efficiently by your Customer Services department, who sent a replacement panel and some bungees.

I've had the Gala Shade for over 2 years now and use it every week for a trade stand at horse shows. I have not seen any other tent which equals ours, and we do ALOT of shows. I often chuckle watching others put up 'lesser' tents when the Gala Shade just Pops up. It's also very sturdy - I use the large pegs and ratchet tie downs which keep it stable even in windy conditions (which I get alot of in the middle of a field) when other tents bend and break - which I also see quite alot. 2 years after purchase I'm still incridibly happy with it and it's wearing much better than I expected given how much abuse we give it. When we eventually break it (hopefully a few years yet as its showing NO signs of giving up) I will have no quarms purchasing the exact same tent. Well done Gala Tent - this is a fantastic product.

We bought a Gala Tent a little over a year ago. The inside of the roof panel has now got black stains on it, where dirt from any rain has seeped through the stitching. We sent photos to gala tents, but they say that this is normal wear and tear, so does this mean that they all go black inside a year? The eyelets where the elastic ties go are also coming apart. They also tried to say that it was out of warranty, this was untrue when we first started to complain, I said this to a Miss Morgan, she said that she would get someone to call us, I sent our contact details several times, and have never heard a thing. So basically fobbed off and then ignored, so we would not recommend this company to anyone in the future.

 Thank you for your review Mr Dalton, your feedback is very important to Gala Tent. It is a common mistake to believe that your marquee is leaking, and also after 12months of continues use it is reasonable to say that your structure would require some  maintenance.

Case Study
 The case study, which was performed, involved, an experiment, which provided scientific evidence that Gala Tent material, does not leak. The water you are seeing is caused by the British ever-changing climate. It is impossible for water to leak in your Gala Tent, however water will appear inside and in some cases saturate, this was proved to be condensation when hot air meets cold and this can be extreme in some cases especially on soft ground as moisture is also drawn from the ground.

We can assure you your structure is not leaking and the only way you can help this situation would be installing a dehumidifier or leaving the doors open providing adequate ventilation so the structure can acclimatize. Any structure that is being hit from all angles by the elements, which is totally enclosed will generate condensation this is the laws of physics. The problem is also renowned in static caravans, that’s why they fit dehumidifies or stand salt pots in them to absorb the moisture, as when they are left for long periods of time on the return visit they are dripping inside with water (condensation) now how did that get there? It’s a very similar situation.

Gala Tent regularly attend outdoor shows and set up the structures and as the climate changes especially through the night water can be dripping from the ceiling the next morning, its simply the nature of the beast.

If you are not satisfied by this straightforward scientific explanation then here’s a simple experiment you can perform yourself. All you need is a hose pipe and an erected Gala Tent hold a hose pipe over your canopy and pour water over it, then go inside, we can guarantee you the joints are seam sealed and no water will pour into your Gala Tent.

Thank you for your email regarding my recent purchase of a Gala Tent. Unfortunately when I erected the tent, I found that certain of the winged nuts supplied were faulty and rotated on their on the bolt meaning that they could not be tightened to secure the frame. I also found that some of the window panels had zips on the incorrect side  so I was unable to zip some the side panels together.
I called Gala Tents and advised them of the problems and they were very responsive to the problems and dispatched more wing nuts and side panels to me as soon as they were made aware of my problems.
I am most impressed with the overall quality of the product and they speedy and helpful response I received from Gala Tent’s customer service department when they were informed of the problems. The marquee I bought was greatly admired by all the people attending the function I gave and they were impressed that 2 of us had managed to erect the tent.

I have purchased several items from Gala tent. This is due to the quality of the items. I have recently purchased a second folding marquee table from Gala Tent. Sadly upon its arrival I opened the packaging to find 3 scratches to the top of the table. 1 Scratch being 10 inches long, another was 3 inches in length and much was a much deeper scratch. I instantly e mailed Gala ten.  As it was out of hours, I received a reply early the following morning. I received both an e mail and telephone call apologising for the purchased for the item arriving damaged. Upon sending two photos of the damage the customer service lady apologised on behalf of Gala tent and re-order me another table which would be delivery  ASAP and within 24hrs. Nicola's communication and customer service was second to none, thank you. I would buy further items from Gala tents as well as recommending them to others.

Hi, I felt I should write to you tell tell you of my experience with your 3mtr x 3mtr Gala tent. I have had it for some 8 - 10 years now and for the first 8 years it was used for occasional parties and very pleased I was with it. For the last 2 years it has been used to store items from the house while a major rebuild was going on. It was under trees and withstood rain and gails. At one point it was under a foot of snow! However bad the weather it kept everything dry and protected. Now the works are finished I've given it a good clean and although it is not as bright as it once was it's still fine. The only problems after all that time was a bit of stitching on one of the zips coming undone and the elastic for the side panel fixings had lost their elasticity. I shall look to replace them next year. Well done Gala Tents

I took out the tube from my working heater and compared them side by side and was surprised to see that they were the same size! So I fitted a new tube into the working heater and that tube fitted OK and worked.
So then I went to the heater that wasn't working and tried again, it looks as though the spring mechanism in the heater itself wasn't springing out enough. So I have had a play with that and managed to get it working, it is still quite loose but at least it is working.
The good news is that the tubes are fine and the right size it's just my heater that is a bit temperamental.

The quality and speed of delivery deserves a 5 star rating, but when I wanted to purchase a different style of tent side the price quoted was more than the cost of the complete tent! It seems unless it is a stock item the price is over the top. I couldn't even purchase a door zip to install myself.

Hi Guys, We borrowed a Gala tent for our wedding venue. We draped it and added floral displays and had the venue of our dreams. If only we could put a photo of your marquee in this review. So impressed were we with the quality of your produce that we would not hesitate to recommend you and purchase your goods. If that does not impress anyone then just to add another gold medal to your product, we had to replace a side panel due to modifications this was ordered at 1pm and the replacement was at the front door by 8.30am the following morning. Dear Gala Tents,

You may remember that earlier in the year you kindly donated to us a 4x4m tent for a school with refugees in Burkina Faso, Africa? Also you donated a lot of canvas and pieces of tents.
We promised to send some pictures, and here they are. I know it is quite a while since you gave the tent - I led the group out in Nov which took the tent to the place where it was going.  We used the tent in couple different locations, as you can probably see in the pictures.   We first set it up at a newly established school in a very poor slum area.  This school doesn't have enough classrooms for the children that come, and they were keen to see how the tent was, to see if it could be used to provide a cheaper alternative to building.
This school has an out-post school far out in the countryside where children who don't go to any other school gather each evening to learn to read and write.  We ended up leaving the tent there, as the ram-shackle structure they had for teaching the children in before was really far from ideal. They were absolutely delighted with the tent, which was a talking point in the whole community.  No-one had ever seen anything like it before!  It doubled the space they had for teaching the children in and made it far more "prestigious" to go to this school than before.  It was a "proper school!" now!
If you ever have "seconds" or unwanted tents (especially larger ones) in the future that you would be willing to donate to Africa, please do let us know.  We would be very grateful to have them and they would certainly be appreciated over there.  We send containers over to Burkina Faso to supply our schools and also local hospitals several times a year, so there is no problem in getting the tents to the destination.

The Pro 50, is a Good sturdy product I have used it twice a week for over a year, and found it to be very well made, its only let down by the Velcro like material which you adhere the side sheets, I would like to think this has been replaced by a much improved product before I purchase an additional marquee, other than that a 1st class product and service

The Pro MX arrived today and certainly from first impressions the difference from the Compact is like chalk and cheese. This is the sort of quality I was expecting so it is a relief that it looks every bit as good as I was hoping for, the frame is impressively heavy duty and really nicely put together, lovely neat stitching, everything lines up and fits perfectly and it's looks really impressive and professional, so just the ticket.
