Introducing the Gala Shade Pro 50 Gazebo

This article is a short, simple introduction to the Gala Shade Pro 50 gazebo, which is one of the strongest pop up gazebos available to buy on the UK market, and is available exclusively from Gala Tent.

The Gala Shade Pro 50 is a heavyweight, aluminium gazebo, built for even the harshest of conditions, whether that’s weather-related or the working environment in itself. This is built for regular commercial use, and is used by market operators, motorsport teams, street food professionals, and simply discerning customers who want the best that’s available.

About the Gala Shade Pro 50 Gazebo

The framework, which is available in 5 sizes, is pretty much entirely robust aluminium, from the 50mm hexagonal legs to the profile aluminium joints that are a feature throughout. Profile aluminium is far stronger than the cast alloy that you’ll find in some of our competitors’ fixings – the difference is that cast alloy is made by pouring molten metal into a cast, which can have air bubbles and imperfections. Profile aluminium is sliced from a longer profile of metal, which is far less susceptible to those imperfections.

The Pro 50 has an external peak pole spring, which allows the tent to sway with the wind in a much freer way, which takes the strain from the joints, legs and other framework components.

The canopy as ever, is our universal 600 denier, PVC-coated polyester which is available in 12 colours, and is extremely water resistant.

Who is this gazebo ideal for?

So, who is the Pro 50 perfect for? It’s for anybody that needs something that’s going to do the job regularly, no matter the conditions. This is the tent that people have seen when they phone us up and say there were terrible weather conditions and they lost their cheap gazebo, but the traders next door had no problems and they had a Gala Shade gazebo.

As you’d expect of something built as robustly as the Pro 50, it’s a very heavy gazebo, especially when you go up to the larger sizes such as 3m x 6m or 4m x 8m. This means that for health and safety, we’d always recommend that at least 2 people are there to erect it, and for a tent such as the 4m x 8m you may even need 3 people.

Let’s talk dimensions and weight.  Each of the 5 models of this gazebo has 5 adjustable height settings.

The 3m wide marquees are the same height as a standard pop up gazebo from Gala Tent – 2m at the valance, and 328cm at the peak pole. The 4m wide gazebos, due to their increased width and strength demands, stand that bit taller – 215cm at the bottom of the valance, and a massive 390cm at the top of the peak pole on the highest setting. In terms of weight, the Pro 50 varies from 40kg for the 3m x 3m including canopy, up to a mammoth 70kg for the 4m x 8m.

What's in the box?

What do you get in the box? With the Pro 50, you’ll receive the frame and the canopy in a colour of your choosing. Sidewalls are an optional extra, because not everybody wants them, and we like to give our customers the freedom to build their own perfect gazebo bundle.

Other recommended accessories for the Pro 50 would be the wheeled storage bag, this is especially recommended for commercial use when you want to take your gazebo out and about, and because these gazebos are heavy, it will make for a much easier process of getting them from A to B.

Ground Bars are a must-have accessory. They connect one leg to the next, keeping them firmly fixed in situ, and stopping them from moving in odd angles when the gazebo is moved, either by humans or mother nature. This protects the entire gazebo from accidental damage. If you have sidewalls, then ground bars also act as a tether for the lower half of the walls in windy conditions because they run through a sleeve that’s stitched into the walls, keeping them taut and your gazebo looking smart.

Gazebo weights and anchors

All Gala Shade gazebos are incredibly strong pieces of kit, but if a big wind comes up and they’re not anchored effectively, then you’re losing your tent to the elements. There’s no two ways about it. Gala Tent offers multiple weights and tie-down options for serving the purpose of protecting your investment.

These anchors include, cast iron weights that offer 13kg per unit and are sold in pairs. Leg weight bags – these are a contraption that you fill with sand or gravel to add 13kg to each leg and are also sold in pairs. There are the water weight bags, which offer a massive 50kg of anchorage and are sold with the ratchet strap you’ll need to attach it to your gazebo. They travel very light, but fill them with water and they mean serious business. If you don’t have access to a water supply, then concrete weights offer 40kg of anchorage and are sold individually, or as 4 or 10 packs.

If you’re on soft ground then you might use essential tie downs or heavy duty storm kits. These are low cost and super effective at their job. One top tip for you when using any kind of ratchet strap or tie-down, do not use the D-ring on the canopy. It’s not designed for tying down, it’s for pulling your canopy tight. Gala Tent structures are strong – don't be scared to wrap the ratchet around the corner at the top of the leg. You’ll avoid damage to your canopy and anchor your gazebo much more effectively.
