Ribtrax & Smoothtrax – In Stock & Ready to Ship

Want it quick? Our stocked range includes best-selling colours in both Ribtrax and Smoothtrax tile types. Available to order online with fast delivery across the UK.

Ribtrax vs Smoothtrax — What’s the Difference?

Ribtrax

The original and most popular Swisstrax tile. Ribbed surface design allows dirt, water, and debris to fall through and be swept or hosed out from underneath — keeping the surface clean and dry even in wet or high-use environments.

  • Best for: garages, motorsport, valeting bays, workshops

  • High flow-through rate for drainage

  • Textured ribbed grip surface

  • Hides dirt well

  • Most colours available in stock

Smoothtrax

A sleeker, low-profile alternative. Still modular, still heavy duty, but with a smooth top surface and smaller perforations. Easier to move trolleys, stools, or toolboxes across — better for clean, polished looks or more refined environments.

  • Best for: showrooms, offices, displays, trade stands

  • Flatter surface for wheeled equipment

  • More refined finish

  • Easier to clean on the surface

  • Slightly reduced drainage compared to Ribtrax

Why Choose Swisstrax Over Lookalike Tiles?

You can get modular flooring from all sorts of places these days — but that doesn’t mean it’s all the same. The truth is, most of the cheap alternatives you’ll find online or in wholesale warehouses are flimsy knock-offs of the real thing.

Swisstrax is the original premium modular tile, trusted worldwide and backed by real guarantees. Here’s what makes it different:

1. Engineered to Outlast Anything

Swisstrax tiles are made from ultra-durable polypropylene with superior load thresholds — designed to hold vehicles, equipment, and foot traffic without bending or cracking. Cheaper tiles? Often brittle, bendy, and vulnerable to stress fractures within weeks.

2. No More Snapped Connectors

One of the biggest fail points of cheap flooring is the clip system. Weak connectors wear out quickly, especially when exposed to temperature changes or regular vehicle movement. Swisstrax uses an interlocking system refined over two decades. Once it’s down, it stays down.

3. Designed for Real-World Use

Whether it's a garage, trade stand, or valeting bay, Swisstrax tiles are built for the job. They're chemical-resistant, UV-stable, jet-washable, and won’t absorb moisture or oil. Inferior imports tend to discolour, warp, or swell under even mild conditions.

4. Colour That Doesn’t Fade

With UV stabilisers built into every tile, Swisstrax flooring holds its colour year after year — even in direct sunlight. Chinese imports? Not so much. Bright reds become dusty pinks, and blacks fade to grey. It’s not a good look.

5. Backed by a Global Brand

When you buy Swisstrax, you’re backed by one of the world’s most trusted modular flooring brands. That means warranty support, proven performance, and peace of mind that you’re not going to be re-laying your floor in six months’ time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between Ribtrax and Smoothtrax tiles?
Ribtrax features a ribbed open-profile surface that allows dirt, liquids, and debris to fall through and be cleaned out from underneath — ideal for garages, valeting bays and motorsport. Smoothtrax offers a flatter surface with smaller perforations, better suited to showroom environments or places where wheeled equipment is regularly moved.

Can I buy Swisstrax tiles online?
Yes — we stock the most popular colours of Ribtrax and Smoothtrax tiles in the UK for fast delivery. You can order directly through our website. If you're after one of the additional colours from the full Swisstrax range, we can import them for you within 7–10 working days.

What makes Swisstrax better than cheaper garage floor tiles?
Swisstrax is built to last, with stronger interlocking connectors, higher load thresholds, and resistance to warping, cracking and fading. Many cheaper alternatives use weaker plastics and are prone to breaking under pressure — especially in garages or commercial spaces.

How many Swisstrax tiles do I need for my space?
Each Swisstrax tile measures 40cm x 40cm, so you’ll need approximately 6.25 tiles per square metre. Just multiply the area of your space in square metres by 6.25 to get the total number of tiles required. If you’re unsure, drop us a message — we’ll help you work it out and make sure you’ve got the right number of edge ramps and trims too.

Can Swisstrax tiles be reused or moved to another location?
Yes. All Swisstrax tiles are fully modular and designed to be lifted, relocated and relaid without damage. Ideal if you're expanding your setup, moving to a new unit, or just like to keep your options open.
