Added extras

It’s worth noting that, as well as having to give all of the equipment back after your event, the hiring company often charges additional costs for:

So, for example, if you were hiring a 6x24m marquee with lining, flooring, heater, lighting, furniture and dance floor, you could typically expect the following breakdown of costs:

Fully lined, matted and lit marquee: Around £1,550

13 x 5ft round tables: Around £75

130 chairs: Around £400

4x4m dance floor: Around £220

Starlight ceiling: Around £1,100

Heater (with fuel): Around £150

Damage waiver @ 5%: Around £175

Total: £3,595 + VAT

Cost per use

So in theory, while you could be spending in excess of £4,000 to hire a marquee for your special event, for another £1,000 you could purchase the same equipment, meaning after hosting just two events your cost per use is lower than the one-off hire price.

Of course, specific costings vary and it’s worth asking for exact quotes before proceeding with any payments, but this gives you an idea of just how cost-effective purchasing your marquee could be.
