The Gala Shade Pro 40 Gazebo

The Gala Shade Pro 40 is a lightweight, aluminium gazebo, but don’t let its lightness deceive you, this tent is absolutely a commercial standard gazebo with many features that set it above other mid-range aluminium tents on the UK market.

About the Gala Shade Pro 40 Gazebo

Let’s start with the framework – it has 40mm hexagonal shaped legs – why hexagonal? Well, the hexagon is widely acknowledged to be one of the strongest shapes you can get. In the hexagon, the force and weight is distributed evenly across all of its sides, making it a far stronger shape of leg than a circular or square shaped gazebo leg.

The outer joints and fixings are the classic hammer-tested nylon that features in many Gala Tent gazebos, but the Pro 40 uses profile aluminium in the central, most weight-bearing joint.

The Pro 40 has an external peak pole spring, which allows the tent to sway with the wind in a much freer way, which takes the strain from the joints, legs and other framework components.

The canopy as ever, is our universal 600 denier, PVC-coated polyester which is available in 12 colours, and is extremely water resistant.

Who is this gazebo ideal for?

So, who is the Pro 40 perfect for? It’s quite a versatile tent that is as comfortable being occasionally used in the garden as it is being used regularly by a business owner, which means it’s pretty popular with everybody. Its lightness means that the 3m x 3m and 3m x 4.5m models can be safely erected by one person, and they’re incredibly popular with businesspeople who perform outdoor mobile work. Valeters, detailers and vehicle restoration professionals, for example. Other industry sectors that may benefit from the lightweight-yet-strong tent would be crafters and traders at seasonal shows, hot tub hirers, charity and fundraising, and outdoor manual labour. If you’re in motorsport, or you’re a market trader who works every day, you would benefit much more from the Pro 50 or Pro 60.

Let’s talk dimensions and weight.  Each model of this gazebo has 5 adjustable height settings, and at the highest point on the highest setting, the top peak stands at 328cm.

The folded down frame stands at 170cm in length, and between 32cm and 52cm in width, depending on the model. That’s pretty compact.

We mentioned it was lightweight – the 3m x 3m weighs in at 28kg with the canopy, the 3m x 4.5m is 36kg and the 3m x 6m is 53kg.

What's in the box?

With the Pro 40, you’ll receive the frame and the canopy in a colour of your choosing. Sidewalls are an optional extra, because not everybody wants them, and we like to give our customers the freedom to build their own perfect gazebo bundle.

Other recommended accessories for the Pro 40 would be the wheeled storage bag, this is especially recommended for commercial use when you want to take your gazebo out and about, and because these gazebos are heavy, it will make for a much easier process of getting them from A to B.

Ground Bars are a must-have accessory. They connect one leg to the next, keeping them firmly fixed in situ, and stopping them from moving in odd angles when the gazebo is moved, either by humans or mother nature. This protects the entire gazebo from accidental damage. If you have sidewalls, then ground bars also act as a tether for the lower half of the walls in windy conditions because they run through a sleeve that’s stitched into the walls, keeping them taut and your gazebo looking smart.

Gazebo weights and anchors

All Gala Shade gazebos are incredibly strong pieces of kit, but if a big wind comes up and they’re not anchored effectively, then you’re losing your tent to the elements. There’s no two ways about it. Gala Tent offers multiple weights and tie-down options for serving the purpose of protecting your investment.

These anchors include, cast iron weights that offer 13kg per unit and are sold in pairs. Leg weight bags – these are a contraption that you fill with sand or gravel to add 13kg to each leg and are also sold in pairs. There are the water weight bags, which offer a massive 50kg of anchorage and are sold with the ratchet strap you’ll need to attach it to your gazebo. They travel very light, but fill them with water and they mean serious business. If you don’t have access to a water supply, then concrete weights offer 40kg of anchorage and are sold individually, or as 4 or 10 packs.

If you’re on soft ground then you might use essential tie downs or heavy duty storm kits. These are low cost and super effective at their job. One top tip for you when using any kind of ratchet strap or tie-down, do not use the D-ring on the canopy. It’s not designed for tying down, it’s for pulling your canopy tight. Gala Tent structures are strong – don't be scared to wrap the ratchet around the corner at the top of the leg. You’ll avoid damage to your canopy and anchor your gazebo much more effectively.
