WHAT IS A HYDROSTATIC HEAD RATING?

The Hydrostatic Head way of measuring the waterproof level of any material, takes a cylinder of water which is placed, upside down on the material. In our case this is a 600 denier PVC-coated polyester, available in any of our twelve colours. The Hydrostatic Head level is hit when liquid begins to infiltrate the material. So, with Gala Tent waterproof gazebo covers, there would be 6000mm of water in that cylinder before it began to seep through the material.

The legal requirement for a tent manufacturer to be able to call their product waterproof is 1000mm. This makes Gala Tent gazebo covers SIX TIMES as waterproof as the legal requirement.

HOW ARE GALA TENT GAZEBO COVERS SO WATERPROOF?

We use a PVC coating on the inside of each piece of polyester material, which is then coated with a waterproofing spray to provide added protection against the rain.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SEAMS?

Any retailer that tells you their covers are 100% waterproof is telling porkies. The material used in our gazebo roof and sides is absolutely the strongest and most waterproof of its kind, currently on the market. However, if you do not look after your pop-up gazebo with due care and over extend the roof section or try to take the tent down with the roof still clipped on, it can sometimes stretch the seams. The more these are stretched, the bigger the likelihood that your tent’s waterproof properties will diminish. If you experience any stretching of the seams which allows water to infiltrate your gazebo, then we supply a very useful seam sealant to help repair your canopy, and if your gazebo roof is beyond repair then we supply replacement canopies for all our gazebos, delivered next working day.
