What is a Pop-Up Marquee?
Also known as a pop-up gazebo, the pop-up marquee is a temporary shelter that is manufactured in one piece, as opposed to the beams-and-braces construction of a classic marquee. This one-piece opens up and firmly locks into place at each corner, and the frame would have a canopy. Optional additions would be ground bars, to strengthen the structure, or sidewalls which turn it into an enclosed, private space.
Due to the technical aspect and the sheer bulk of the framework, a pop-up marquee would tend to cover a smaller area than a classic marquee would, although it's possible to connect individual tents together to cover as large a space you need.

Which Pop-Up Marquee is best for grass?
Any Gala Tent Pop Up Marquee is ideal for on grass, and the height adjustable legs mean that they can even be set down on a stepped area, if necessary. Whichever tent you select in the long run, you should be looking to anchor it effectively, and on grass, the most cost-effective method would be the Gala Tent Heavy Duty Storm Kits.
This product is perfect for anchoring your pop-up marquee on soft ground, such as grass. Simply wrap one end of the ratchet strap around the corner of the framework (DO NOT USE THE D RING ON THE CANOPY - it is not designed for anchorage) and use the supplied heavy duty tent peg to drive into the ground and firmly anchor your tent to the ground. Which Pop-Up Marquee is best for lots of people?
The biggest pop-up marquee we can supply is the 4m x 8m. Something of this size can offer coverage for around 32 people when standing. However, if you wish to cover many more people and instant deployment is still the biggest requirement when buying a tent, then it is absolutely possible to attach our tents to each other using connector clamps and gutter kits, so realistically you can build a shelter to a size as big as you wish to go. If you’re looking at huge areas and on a stricter budget than Pop Up Marquees will allow, then you may need to compromise on speed of erection and revert to a classic Pole Marquee option.
The 4m x 8m Gala Shade Pro 50 can be erected so much more quickly than its pole-and-joints companion marquee, with a team able to put this up in less that 20 minutes, as opposed to 90 minutes or so. The covers are available in 12 different colours, and the tent can easily cover 32 people.
